Nail Soup Ltd is a trading vehicle which forms a focus for a group of experts, ranging across a wide range of skills. In brief, what unites us is an interest in making things work better. In the quest to find how to do this, we have ranged far and wide across many supposedly separate domains of knowledge. If we had confined ourselves to the limits of particular subjects, life would have been much more dull than it has been, and our ability to really makes things work better would have remained merely a dream.

You will see that Nail Soup is an ancient story (also to be found under the name Stone Soup), which is claimed by some to be Scandinavian, but can be found in a Celtic version, various Middle Eastern versions, and is also claimed to have happened in real life in the time of the Great Depression in the USA. This story is part of our shared human heritage and the pattern it describes has probably been deeply embedded in our psychology for tens of thousands of years.
All the versions share the theme of an impoverished, miserable person in settled circumstances, whose prospects are transformed by a passing wanderer, who is himself in serious trouble. The wanderer appears to have nothing to offer, and many settled folk would regard him with deep suspicion. However, his wandering life enables him to recognise the potential in resources which the settled person doesn't even notice she has. In order to unleash their potential, he takes an apparently worthless nail, which enables both parties to improve their prospects enormously, by acting as a focus of attention which catalyses the concoction of a delicious soup.
To us, this story sums up perfectly the proper relationship between an outside consultant and an organisation which perceives itself to have a problem, whatever that might be.
